Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
The day started out great! Waking up by the picturesque beaches of Savanna Bay is certainly a memorable sight. We started the day with our morning playlist of Caribbean songs. Despite not knowing most of the artists and song titles our crew has managed to memorize most of the lyrics. After a breakfast of cereal our crew set out on our daily activities. Today’s agenda consisted of wakeboarding, waterskiing, windsurfing and our first confined water scuba dive. As Max likes to tell us, our first breaths underwater are amazing and boy was he right! Along with learning basic scuba techniques and safety procedures, we enjoyed ourselves a ton on the waterskis and windsurfing boards. Many people had their first experiences with watersports today. After our activities we learned how to properly drive a dinghy and tie some essential nautical knots. We had to rush our showers tonight as the program director, Mike, joined us for dinner, along with AQ photographer Katja. The crew loved their company as we shared embarrassing stories, and we had a good laugh. As I write this under the deck my crew-mates work diligently to clear dinner and clean the boat. Soon we will be heading to a Lifeworks forum. I’m excited to see it, but perhaps even more excited to return to my comfy hammock to rest away the exhaustion from today’s amazing activities.
