Day 17: Man of the Sea!

Today was one of the best days of the trip so far because it was the first time I took the helm on by myself: today I was the skipper. The wind was so strong today, 20-30kts. With Tor gone Meghann has taken charge and she rocks, but today I took the helm by myself at some points. I had great help today in the crazy sea. Wes helped a huge part today with everything and also J-rod. Our sail made me a much better sailor. We sailed to GHP again. We had a dive after the sail, the dive was fun because J-rod, Wes, Duncan and I were in a dive group. We had so much fun underwater. We had foot race, blew bubble rings, and played some other games as well. Tonight’s dinner was Mexican night. The chefs did an awesome job (Zolt and Syd). Tonight is a study night for the Neptunes — Dolphins just finished their papers for their projects. Casey bought some cake mix today at port and she is making it for the whole boat tonight. I can already feel my mouth watering. we only have four more days left, and I know that everyone on the boat will cherish these last days to the fullest. I know this from last year, because at this moment everyone is like family and we all care about each other. At the end of the trip we will be very sad but we will know that we’ll stay in touch and stay a family.
