Day 18 – Final Port Stop
Posted: Fri, Jul 4, 2014
Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today we slept in and woke up at 7 instead of our usual 6:30 to the smell of pancakes cooking on the stove, ready for a less rushed but still very fun day. After breakfast we hopped into Rango (our speedy dinghy) for waterskiing and wakeboarding, except Rango was, as Catie put it, finicky today. That means we had trouble pulling ourselves up but it worked out and almost everyone got up. We even had some first timers. Jacob almost got up on slalom (and would have if not for Rango) and Andres got up for the first time on water skis! Back on the boat, we motor-sailed with the jib to the capitol of the BVIs and our final stop at port: Road Town, Tortola. In Road Town we ate lunch at the Village Cay Marina and had Gelato at La Dolce Vita. After walking around Road Town for a while, we sailed back to Great Harbor. We showered and played in the water with some inventive jumps off the side of the boat and some free-diving. Richard free-dove and saw a three yard long tarpon! Now we are about to eat breakfast for dinner before our sailing exam tonight. Everyone is excited for but more nervous about our exam but Mitch is sure well do fine. Anyway, today was a great day and were all looking forward to tomorrow when we have no exam stress and well dive the famous Rhone shipwreck!
