Location: Sydney’s, Jost van Dyke
Day 15 was easily called the longest day of the trip. I woke up at the crack of dawn so we could eat breakfast before our hike. Then, once we all arrived on the dock, Mike briefed us on what we were in for. We were told that we are going to hike a total of 6 miles, up and down, on Sage Mountain. Although the hike was straight up the hill and very tiring, the view at the top was totally worth it. The best part about it all was that after we finished the hike, we got to enjoy some burgers and snacks. Then we motored over to a small island to have a sandcastle competition. I have yet to see what our sand castle looked like due to the fact that I was buried under it. I’m sure it was amazing. The end of the day was definitely the best ending we’ve had all trip. We all got to hang out at Sydney’s restaurant with a buffet of food and plenty of shops to buy some clothes. It was easy to tell this day was long because everyone was basically falling asleep at 8:30. Tomorrow is the practical sailing test, so everyone is starting to prepare. I hope everything goes well tomorrow. Can’t wait for these next few days together.
