Day 2- Little Family

Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Today I witnessed something pretty awesome. We, as a group, went from strangers, to acquaintances, to new friends. In just one day our group shared inside jokes and many laughs. It started with an anxious wait to finally leave port and get going on the water. We quickly learned the parts of our home for the next couple weeks and how to sail. We grasped the concept quickly and had a smooth sail to Norman Island. Many relaxed by the bow as the boat danced in the waves. When we moored we all happily jumped in for the swim test that. After completing the test successfully we had some time left over to free swim before snorkeling in the nearby cave. This was my personal favorite part of the day, bonding over a game of categories. We jumped off the side as someone shouted out a category and the jumper has to name something to fit the description before hitting the water. Later in the evening we were picked up in a dinghy and headed out to explore the cave. Everyone really enjoyed this time together because with each minute we’re growing closer to one another. We just finished up dinner- Sloppy Joe’s. When we finished eating we had the traditional “squeeze” session. This is an ActionQuest tradition of holding hands and answering the skipper’s question of the day. Later tonight we will be splitting up into our programs and discussing all that jazz. We will probably end the night talking on the deck and admiring the stars smiling down on our little family.
