Today we woke up at 7:30 and headed off to the first dive site while we ate breakfast. Everyone was pretty excited because it was a gorgeous day, and it was the first time we dove two times in one day. For the first dive we got with our buddies to plan the dives on our own with dive tables. The site was called the Chimneys, where there was a fantastic swim through. We saw a brown-spotted moray eel at the opening of the swim through, which was absolutely amazing. We got out of the water far too soon for such a great dive. We motored over to the next site at the Dogs, where we found another boat on our mooring ball. At that point we spotted a tiny peak of rocks pointing out of the water, not quite large enough to be called an island. There was a mooring ball there, so we decided – why not? – and hopped in. It was probably one of, if not the best dives I’ve ever been on. We spotted what we proclaimed “lesser spotted Seal Dog island”, and when we popped up at the boat everyone was super ecstatic. Every single person on Mahi, staff included, could not stop raving about both of the dives. Everything about today, especially the dives, was awesome. We had some time after lunch when we got back to the anchorage. We logged dives, worked on PADI knowledge reviews, and chilled on the trampoline while a few of us went snorkeling. It was such a perfect day, and I’m positive that I speak for everyone when I say this, too.
