Staff Update Day 1
Posted: Thu, Aug 2, 2012
After loading three dock cart loads full of food, scrubbing the deck, sorting fresh linens, and counting scuba gear, Sam, Meghann, and I cannot wait for the Boss Ladies and Gents to finally arrive so the fun can start! We’re so excited for our third session and are determined to make it the best session yet. After reviewing our schedule as a team, we are looking forward to 17 days of awesome sailing and diving on our “action” packed trip. We are excited to see some pretty awesome locations we haven’t been to yet this summer. As always though, while the diving and sailing is what draws us in, it’s the people who make it unforgettable, which is why I can’t wait for our group to get here so we can start the journey from total strangers to the closest family.
Here is an introduction to the crew of Boss Lady:
Sam- skipper/dive instructor
After graduating from Wake Forest University in 2004, Sam followed his passion for the water and travel, working as a Sailing and Scuba Diving instructor in Costa Rica, Thailand, and Belize. Sam joined AQ, in 2007 and is now the director of the BVI Diving program. He holds certifications as an MCA Master of Yachts 200 Ton, PADI IDC Staff Instructor, and Advanced Medic at Sea. An avid traveler, he can be found seeking out new adventures abroad, from paragliding in the Alps to jungle trekking in Sumatra.
Marina- dive instructor/mate/Wilderness First Responder
Marina joined the ActionQuest team in 2006 as a shipmate. This will be her second year working as a dive instructor, Wilderness First Responder, and scientist for the Dolphin program. During the year Marina is finishing up her final year studying biology at Florida State University when she’s not teaching diving or sailing with the sailing team.
Meghann- dive instructor/mate
Meghann is from Auburn Hills, MI and between the Great Lakes and scuba diving in the ocean, has never been far from the water. Meghann attended Oakland Community College and graduated in 2009 with an Associates Degree in Architecture. Meghann previously worked at an adventure summer camp in the Florida Keys, working her way up to Advanced Open Water through Divemaster and in 2010, she became a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. Meghann joined ActionQuest in 2011, and is an instructor for our Advanced Scuba Diving programs.
