Today, thankfully, we didn’t wake up to the sound of barking dogs and crowing roosters. We were woken up by the smell of pancakes, thanks to Robby and Frannie. After we finished breakfast we left the dock and started our practicals and knot tying to get our sailing certification, so we are halfway done! We still need to take the written exam. We finished sailing in circles for four hours and sat down to chicken salad and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We cleaned up, and we had a major bonding session with the entire crew jumping off the transom and doing flips into the water. There are some awesome pictures! After we all got on the dinghy and rode to the smallest island I’ve ever seen, and hung out on the beach for a while with most of the other boats. Once we got back we took showers, which is always a very entertaining part of the day, and had franks and beans. We procrastinated cleanup as usual, then got ready for a very interesting sail chat, which helped us get ready for our written exam. After a long and very fun day, we all sat in the cockpit and bonded more until we fell asleep. Our boat continues to grow stronger as a family with each day, and as our trip starts winding down to the end, I know no matter what, we will always be a family and find a way to be together again.
