Location: Sommer’s Beach, Tortola
Today was an action filled day from start to finish. After waking up and making scrambled eggs, we sat down for a great breakfast and got our day’s schedule. First up was wakeboarding and waterskiing, where most of the boat went on the dinghies to tear up the wakes of the water, and some of us (myself included) stayed behind and hung out. Hannah and Jordan almost got up, but they’ll have to try again tomorrow. We then went to the boat Southern Accent, where the Vegas prepared to go diving and the Quests got ready to snorkel. I was in Evan’s group with the boys, and we had a great time practicing skills such as a controlled emergency swimming ascent (CESA) with the best instructor in the program!! Then we returned for a tortilla soup lunch on Wicked Good, which was delicious, of course. After lunch we went sailing on the Pico sailboats in the little bay around us, which was awesome. Miguel and Louis loved going fast but in control, while Josh and I capsized a couple times for fun, and Jordan and Sean couldn’t stop flipping the boat! Our last program before dinner was making Turk’s Heads bracelets/anklets, which will stay with us for a long time. For dinner we took the dinghies to the beach for an amazing beach BBQ with the rest of the program.
