Location: Sommer’s Beach, Tortola
Today we started off the day right with the best scrambled eggs I’ve had the whole trip, compliments of shipmates Leila and Noemie. After cleanup everyone began setting up dive gear. The Vegas and Carinas went down with their instructors, and the DMs went down with their instructor Doug. I have to say it was one of the most memorable dives I have ever been on. We were practicing scenarios where we were leading a dive with inexperienced divers and had to correct them on what they were doing wrong. At one point Doug put his gear on his stomach and kept going like it was completely normal. I have never laughed so hard, and underwater at that. When it was my turn to lead I spotted a lionfish, which are an invasive species and are deadly to the ecosystem of the Caribbean. After the diving was done we moved locations because tonight we got to have a beach BBQ. We ate burgers that were cooked on boulders and saw friends from other boats. It’s days like today that remind me how truly blessed I am to live such a good life.
