Sailing and Beaching

Today we sailed to a beach and back. The sail there was very windy, which made it really easy to go fast. We broke our upwind speed record by reaching 9.3 knots! We reached our destination called Anegada, a small flat island filled with beautiful white sand and luscious palm trees. We played frisbee and swam in the water, which was sure the clearest, lightest water we had seen yet. Next we managed our first seagull free lunch of PB+J. The sail back was also beautiful, although Emma, Mimi, and I spent most of our time catching up on sleep in the salon. We arrived at Vixen Point, where we rafted with three other boats in our age group. This means that we tied up alongside the boat on the end. We see many stray cats and goats, along with seagulls and colorful buildings. Before dinner we cleaned our cabins and took ocean showers, which were very refreshing. We topped the day off with pasta with tomato sauce and garlic bread, which was delicious. Overall, it was a very fun and relaxing day, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the trip holds for us!
