The Big Climb

This morning we woke up to “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles just as the sun rose. We all got up and had cereal for breakfast. Then we all cleaned up and got ready for Mt. Sage! We arrived, then prepared for the hike up the tallest mountain in the BVI. We were all nervous, but we got into the dinghy and headed to shore. Mike gave us a wonderful preparation speech, and then we began our 2 mile ascent to the top. The first part was the hardest, but finally we powered through to make it all the way, making new friends and seeing wonderful sights along the way. When we reached the top, we stopped at a store to buy souvenirs, and saw the lovely view at the very peak. When we climbed back down we went to town and had cheeseburgers in paradise, in the exact place Jimmy Buffet wrote his song! After that we got back on the boat and sailed to Sandy Cay and had a sand castle competition! Our boat made a toilet sand castle, but the winning boat made a shark, which isn’t nearly as creative. We had a lot of fun though, and then we sailed the boat to where we are now, Sydney’s, in preparation for the BBQ tonight! We’re all very excited for the fun we’re going to have tonight, and we’re also looking forward to tomorrow!
