Deep, Dark, Diving

Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
We began this glorious summer day with a bowl of oatmeal and sliced fresh fruit. After inhaling our delicious and nutritious breakfast we set off towards the Baths. The Baths, a historical landmark of the BVI’s, consists of a series of granite rocks and a shore that were previously used as the outdoor bath and prison of slaves being transported. The entire boat explored, climbed and swam the whole island and ultimately conquered the Baths. After an exciting two and a half hour excursion we all began to prep for our first time at port. We Hibiclensed, took out some spending money, briefed about BVI culture, then took to Spanish Town for a late lunch and to purchase “healthy” snacks. Loaded with our new items and full from lunch, we meandered back to the boat to begin our motor to Mountain Point to snorkel our first night dive site. After snorkeling, down time, and dinner we set up our gear and began to “long stride” off the side of the boat. The night dive itself was indescribable. It was so beautiful and serene I can honestly say it was a completely different world down there. This beautifully hectic day was topped off with relaxing music and warm gooey brownies. Everyone back home-I wish you could see me learning and experiencing new things in the BVI’s this session!
