Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
After waking the crew 30 minutes too early, we all knew that it was going to be an interesting day, to say the least. Jess and Jeanne cooked a delicious breakfast of pancakes to brighten the mood. As we sailed away from Sidney’s at Jost van Dyke, the tension on the boat was high because we had our IYT practicals. After six long hours of sailing circles, man overboards, and heave tos, we anchored at Sandy Spit. By this point everyone was tired, so the mood was a bit low, but we pulled through. We went to the beach at Sandy Spit and had a much needed hour of relaxation. When we arrived back on good ole JDV2, the wonderful Anna had cooked us a delicious meal of rice and beans (with hot dogs), corn bread, and salad, plus we got fresh water showers for the third day in a row. We had a quick-ish clean up after dinner, then headed over to Odyssea for Lifeworks. Mike talked about the future and had us fill out cards with our top three tangible and intangible goals written on them. We came back home once again to a surprise of brownies 🙂 So, even though the day was long, we pulled through.
